Henna night · Istanbul
A QR photo album for your henna night in Istanbul.
A henna night is full of moments that are hard to photograph from a single spot: the candle-lit tray, the songs, the henna placed in the bride’s palm and the dancing that goes on long after. Snapia lets every guest add their photos, videos and messages to one album by scanning a QR code — no app, no account. Because henna nights are often intimate, the album can stay private, visible only to the host.
- Guests scan and upload in the browser — no app, no account
- Uploads resume on their own when reception is weak
- A live wall for the venue’s screen, projector or TV
- Print-ready table cards: vector PDF, PNG and SVG

Celebrating in Istanbul
Celebrations in Istanbul range from hotel ballrooms and wedding halls to Bosphorus-view terraces, historic waterfront mansions, garden venues and rooftop restaurants.
- Good to know
- Guests often cross the city from different districts and arrive at different times, so put a sign at the entrance as well as cards on the tables for late arrivals. In large halls and lower-floor ballrooms, test a card where reception is weakest; if the signal drops, Snapia queues uploads and resumes them.
- Light & weather
- Waterfront and terrace venues are lovely in the warm months but can be windy by the water, so secure outdoor cards and plan an indoor spot for the live wall screen.
Moments worth capturing at a henna night
Share these as ideas — or turn a few into photo challenges for your guests.
- 01The bride’s entrance in her embroidered dress and red veil.
- 02The candle-lit henna tray being carried around the bride.
- 03The henna songs — and the tears they often bring.
- 04The henna being placed in the bride’s palm, in many families with a gold coin.
- 05Close friends and relatives having their own henna applied.
- 06Mothers, aunts and grandmothers dancing together.
- 07The henna bundles and favours prepared for the guests.
- 08Group photos of the bride with her closest friends.
- 09The dancing that starts once the ceremony is over.
Your plan, step by step
From setting up the album to downloading every original.
Three weeks before
Create the album, add the bride’s name and the date, and choose Private: guests can upload, but only you see what comes in.
Two weeks before
Design table cards and a sign for the henna tray table in the print studio, export the PDF with bleed and crop marks, and have them printed locally.
A few days before
Add photo challenges that fit the night, such as “the henna tray with its candles” or “the bride with her mother”, and switch on the written guestbook for wishes.
On the day, before guests arrive
Put the cards out and scan one from a seat. Henna nights are often held in halls or at home where reception varies, so upload a test photo; if the signal drops, uploads wait on the phone and continue when it returns.
During the night
Ask the host, the DJ or the musicians to mention the QR code before the henna ceremony begins, so guests are ready when the candles are lit.
The next day
Go through the album, download the originals as a ZIP and send a share link only to the people you choose — close family, for example — with a PIN if you like.
Where to put the QR cards
- Place a card on the henna tray table — everyone gathers there when the ceremony starts.
- Put a card at the entrance next to the henna bundles and favours, so guests scan it as they arrive.
- Use one card per table, in colours that match the red and gold of the night.
- Add a card near the dance floor or the musicians — that’s where many photos are taken.
- If the henna night is at home, leave a card in the living room and another near the kitchen, where helpers gather.
Our privacy recommendation
Private
Henna nights are often intimate family evenings where guests relax and dance freely, so keeping the album visible only to the host is the respectful default. Afterwards you can share the photos you choose through a link, with an optional PIN.
Compare all five privacy modesQuestions about henna night albums
Can we keep our henna night photos private?
Yes. In Private mode guests can upload but can’t see anyone else’s photos; only you see the album. Even the venue can’t see it unless you allow it.
Will our home’s location be stored in the photos?
No. Location (GPS) data is removed from stored photos, which matters when a henna night takes place at a family home.
Can guests leave a message for the bride?
The written guestbook is included on all paid plans, and on Premium guests can also leave voice and video messages — a lovely keepsake from a night full of songs.
Do guests need to download anything?
No. They scan the QR code with their phone camera and upload from the browser. There’s no app and no account.
Does Snapia work at venues in Istanbul?
Yes. Snapia runs in the phone’s browser over mobile data or Wi-Fi, so it works in any venue in Istanbul — ballrooms, gardens, terraces or at home. Where reception is weak, uploads wait on the phone and resume automatically.
