This document is a working draft published for transparency. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and may change before it becomes final.

1. About these Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Snapia website, apps and services at snapia.co (the "Service"), provided by Snapia Technologies FZ-LLC, [Registered address, United Arab Emirates] ("Snapia", "we"). By creating an account, buying a plan or uploading content, you agree to these Terms. If you act for a business, you confirm you may bind it.

See also our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Distance Sales Agreement and, for venues, the Data Processing Agreement.

2. Who uses Snapia

  • Hosts create an event album, for example for a wedding or birthday, and control it.
  • Venues such as event halls, hotels and restaurants use a subscription to create and manage events for their customers.
  • Guests scan a QR code or open a link and upload photos, videos, voice messages and written guestbook messages from their browser, without an app or an account.

3. Accounts

Hosts and venues need an account and must be at least 18. Keep your details accurate and your login secure; you are responsible for activity under your account. Report suspected misuse to support@snapia.co.

4. Acceptable use and content rules

You must not upload, share or link to content that:

  • is unlawful or infringes anyone's copyright, privacy or other rights;
  • sexually exploits or endangers minors, or is sexually explicit;
  • is hateful, harassing, threatening, defamatory or glorifies violence;
  • contains malware or is designed to disrupt the Service.

You must also not access others' albums or accounts, bypass security or bot protection, scrape or spam through the Service, or resell it without our permission.

We may remove content or suspend accounts where we reasonably believe these rules or the law have been broken. Hosts can enable optional AI moderation, but no moderation is perfect and it does not replace the host's own responsibility.

5. Albums and content

The host owns and is responsible for the album

The host controls the album: who can upload, which uploads are shown, share links (with an optional PIN) and downloads. Albums are private by default. The host is responsible for how the album is used and shared, including informing guests and obtaining any permissions required by law. For events a venue creates, the venue is also responsible towards us, but venue staff cannot see album content unless the host grants access.

What guests upload

Guests keep ownership of their uploads and grant the host a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, view, download, print and share them for personal, non-commercial purposes connected with the event. Guests confirm they have the right to upload the content, including any consent needed from people shown in it.

Guests can delete their own uploads at any time while the album exists, from the browser they uploaded with, or through the data request form. This does not remove copies the host has already downloaded.

Our limited licence

You grant Snapia a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process and display content only to provide, secure and support the Service, for example to create previews, convert videos, remove location data and, if enabled, run moderation. We do not sell album content or use it for advertising.

The print studio only generates print-ready files (PDF, PNG and SVG). Snapia never prints, ships or delivers physical goods; any printing is between you and your printer.

6. Plans, payments and retention

Snapia offers a free trial, one-time album plans (Celebration, Wedding Standard, Wedding Premium and Wedding Series), archive extensions and venue subscriptions. Each plan's price, features, limits and upload window are shown at purchase. Guests can upload during the upload window; afterwards the album can still be viewed and downloaded until its archive period ends. We accept cards through Stripe, and bank transfer.

The archive (retention) period after the event is:

  • Free trial: 14 days
  • Celebration: 6 months
  • Wedding Standard: 12 months
  • Wedding Premium and Wedding Series: 24 months
  • Venue events: 12 months

Archive extensions can be purchased before the archive period ends.

What happens at expiry

We e-mail the host 30 days, 7 days and 1 day before deletion. When the archive period ends, the album and its content are permanently deleted, so please download anything you want to keep.

Subscriptions

Venue subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time in your account settings, effective at the end of the current billing period. After that, no new events can be created, and existing events follow the retention periods above.

7. Refunds

Refunds and withdrawal are governed by the Distance Sales Agreement and applicable consumer law. As the Service starts as soon as payment is confirmed, the right of withdrawal may not apply once you have expressly agreed to immediate performance, where the law allows. Your mandatory consumer rights are not affected.

8. Availability

We work to keep Snapia secure and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation or any particular uptime. We may carry out maintenance and change features; if we materially reduce a paid feature during a paid period, we will offer a fair remedy. Keep your own copies of important content.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, goodwill or data. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid Snapia in the 12 months before the claim arose, or USD 100 if you have not paid anything.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud, gross negligence, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury, or your mandatory consumer rights.

10. Termination

You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, do not pay, or if the law requires it, warning you first where reasonable. Content is then deleted as described in these Terms and our Privacy Policy; we keep records the law requires, such as invoices.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and the courts of Dubai [placeholder, to be confirmed] have jurisdiction. Consumers keep the protection of the mandatory laws of their country of residence and may bring claims before the consumer bodies and courts there.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when the Service or the law changes, and will notify you of material changes by e-mail or in the app before they take effect. If you do not agree, you can stop using the Service and cancel any subscription before then.
